A new partnership between Edmiston and Nautor Swan signifies the beginning of an exciting new era that will see one of the world’s largest and most successful brokerage companies affirm its trust in the iconic performance sailing yachts brand and drive its new range to global success.
The collaboration between Edmiston and Nautor Swan is built on a shared vision to elevate the sailing brand’s global presence, furthering its legacy in the maxi yacht segment with a range that sees it enter the 40+ end of the sailing market for the first time, bringing alloy yachts to a whole new client base.
It also marks another significant step in the Nautor Swan for America initiative that began with the sailing brand’s partnership with American Magic that looks to re-energise sailing in the United States.
Bruce Brakenhoff will take the helm at Edmiston for this exciting new project, with Edmiston’s Newport office serving as the operational hub for the promotion and sales activities of the yacht range. This move marks an exciting return for Nautor Swan to Newport, a world-renowned sailing centre that has long been a beacon for yacht enthusiasts.
The first yacht in the new range will be designed by Malcom McKeon, who is expected to push the boundaries of performance while retaining the timeless beauty and tradition for which Swan yachts are renowned, while also ensuring the authenticity of the Swan sailing experience.
Sustainability will be at the core of every design, incorporating cutting-edge solutions such as hydrogeneration and other eco-friendly technologies already experienced by Sanlorenzo, the parent company of Nautor Swan, including methanol and hydrogen.
Announcing the partnership, Jamie Edmiston, Chief Executive of Edmiston, said: “Nautor Swan is one of the iconic names within the sailing yacht world. We are excited to embark on this journey with San Lorenzo and Nautor Swan to establish the brand at the pinnacle of performance sailing yacht production. Working closely with Max and Giovani, with Bruce leading from Edmiston we are optimistic and excited for the future”.
Giovanni Pomati, CEO of Nautor Swan, said of the project: “This partnership with Edmiston is vital to completing a strategic operation that will leverage the collective expertise of Sanlorenzo in the superyacht industry. The collaboration will create a powerful synergy of knowledge, ensuring the success of an ambitious global project and technology transfer opportunities to the sailing segment.”
Massimo Perotti, Executive Chairman of Sanlorenzo, said the collaboration was a smart move for everyone involved: “Our partnership with Edmiston is a natural progression of our shared vision which opens up new opportunities for the future of both brands.”
